We traveled to Placencia in Belize in May 2008 to view and
be present for the survey of "Dulcinea" as the boat was then called. After
commitment to purchase we agreed for delivery at the end of September 2008.
Finally took delivery in the middle of October and
immediately sailed our new toy to the Rio Dulce in Guatemala to hide from
the still current hurricane season and to install various upgrades before
our trip back to Florida.
Spent close to a month in the Rio Dulce, then headed
north to the west coast of Florida, via Isla Mujeres in Mexico and a quick
visit to Cancun.
On arrival Ft. Myers Beach in Florida, we loaded all
our stuff removed from our first boat, Dream On, then enjoyed Christmas with
Adam and Simon onboard.
Sailed down to the Florida Keys with New Year in Key
West, then a stop in Marathon for more upgrades.
Moved from Marathon to Fort Lauderdale in February for
scheduled post-survey work.
When survey work complete and ready to go sailing, we
had an engine seizure followed by a lightning strike, so remained in Fort
Lauderdale for the remainder of 2009..
