Our First Sailing Season was onboard our first boat, Dream On, a Beneteau
Oceanis 430

Our cruising life started in December 2004 with a Christmas maiden voyage to
the Florida Keys, followed by a crossing to The Bahamas in mid February
2005.
After an incredible 4 months exploring The Bahamas, we left the Abacos,
northern Bahamas in June 2005 to return to the east coast of the USA.
We made a 400 mile offshore run to Charleston, South Carolina, then another
200 miles offshore to Beaufort, North Carolina. After this, we headed up the
Intra Coastal Waterway and the Chesapeake to Chestertown, on the Chester
River in Maryland and hauled Dream On out for summer storage until our
return in October 2005. |

We ended what we
call our maiden voyage in Marathon in the Florida
Keys on 30th January 2004. We intended to stay for a few days, but somehow
ended up there for seven weeks. |

Our first trip on Dream On.
Starting from Summerfield Boat Yard on the New River at Fort Lauderdale.
Down the Intracoastal Waterway, (ICW) to Miami. Out through Biscayne Bay
into the Hawk Channel in the Florida Straits south of the Florida Keys, on to Key West and
then back to Marathon. |
